I've been getting to grips with visualization and animation using Unreal Engine. The real-time rendering offers so much creative freedom and instantaneous results that testing out different things no longer feels tedious.
The fact that I can now create entire 3D worlds quickly without solely relying on HDRIs and Backplates allows for much more realism when it comes to animations. It was tricky to get my head around the different logic of setting up a scene compared to a more traditional render engine but I now feel that this method allows for so many more options that previously felt restricted.
The dynamic sky & weather afforded by a real-time engine allows for some previously difficult effects. In this instance I was playing with the Aurora Borealis during a cold winter's night featuring the Mazda CX-3. Again all this is in real-time.
Here I'm using the Unreal Engine as an interior Arch-Viz tool. The Unreal marketplace hosts a number of extremely useful assets such as materials and textures that really bring a scene to life.
As for interactions and rich media. I have dabbled with using Unreal to build a car customizer. In this instance the body style and rims can be changed but in reality any number of things can be added such as opening parts, sounds, mark-up/annotations, special effects, and much more!
